We have always been extremely happy with the education our children have received at St. Peter the Apostle Montessori Program. Our son attended preschool and kindergarten, and our daughter is currently in preschool. We firmly believe that it has given them an incredible foundation for future learning. Our son has excelled at every  level of scholastics and reads at a 6th grade level. One of his strongest attributes relayed to us by his teachers is that he is very independent and loves to learn. We believe that this is a direct result of the Montessori Program and the excellent teachers at St. Peter’s. He has many vivid and fond memories of his time at St. Peter Montessori and has commented that he wishes his current school was structured similarly. He loved the ability to work independently and explore ideas, works, and projects at his pace.

We are constantly amazed at what our daughter picks up on a daily basis during her time at school. She loves being able to help teach and demonstrate new works to the younger students. It is always such a joy to see children excited about going to school and to learn new things.

We are very pleased with the variety of activity offered at St. Peter’s and how clear it is that the staff enjoys their profession. The love and devotion that they show the children and commitment to the program made us very comfortable intrusting our children to St. Peter the Apostle Montessori. This is our fourth year here and couldn’t be happier.

To all parents out there who are looking for a wonderful environment in which to start your child’s education, I highly recommend St. Peter Montessori, in Harper Woods. I evaluated quite a few schools in Spring of 2008, for my son, who was going to be starting Pre-School in the Fall of 2008. While there are many good schools out there, none of them compared to what my husband and I saw at St. Peter’s.

We actually met Ms. Maria, his teacher, at the open house in Spring ’08. She really educated my husband and I on the whole Montessori philosophy, which we were not really familiar with. We had heard great things about St. Peter’s, but it was not until our conversation with Ms. Maria and some of the parents, that we realized this was the school for our son. The environment in the classroom, while structured, allows the child to grow in a very independent way.

The Montessori tools and concepts are very interesting, and make the children want to learn more and more each day. My son, who is in full day pre-school this year, started reading word cards within the first month of school, and two months in to the school year, he was already starting to read books. I truly now believe the old saying that "a child’s mind is like a sponge, they absorb so much." If you want a loving, nurturing environment, where your child is able to experience independent learning, music, Spanish, gym and a love for God, then this would be a great school for you and your child to be a part of.

I am a parent of a 4 year old 1st year preshooler at St. Peter's and I couldn't be happier with the school.  Let me save you some shopping around and tell you to send your little one to St. Peter Montessori.  The teachers and administrators are all very enthusiastic and just great at their jobs.  They make a day of school fun and exciting while teaching the kids all different types of lessons.

My kid has been there 5 months and it is amazing all the knowledge he has soaked up from his teachers and classmates.  I had some high expectations going in and the school has exceeded all of them already.  Consider yourself lucky to have stumbled onto this school and take advantage of this opportunity to have your kid get a few years of a caring, warm, and quality education.
